The Latest El Fénix Update
Here is the latest update from El Fénix community wet mill and farm! This time around they looked into some of the finer details and structural parts of the farm's development, as well as a sneak peek at the new signs of our lot backers, in situ at the farm. Delano Coffee are a founding backer of the farm and have a 1000 tree plot, of the Geisha and Wush Wush varietals.
After a year of development the trees of El Fénix have grown rapidly across the farm. The trees now have begun to bear fruit and are now dominating the views across the farm. Pictured here are the Mokas planted as part of the 'Tree In Your Name' Kickstarter rewards, our Delano tree is somewhere amongst them all!
Since its construction, the pond has been laying in wait, pining for aquatic companions. The time finally came for the newest residents of the farm to move in – the Red Tilapia, hailing from farthest La Dorada in Caldas, an 8 - 10 hour drive from El Fénix.
With the help of Miguel's sister's 3D rendering skills, we now have a first look at the renovated buildings at El Fénix. See below for the initial mock ups as proposed during the Kickstarter campaign. The main building will house the living and dining quarters on the first floor, with a cupping lab and storage areas on the lower floor.
Stay tuned for more updates on the El Fénix Farm.
